Mark Sean O'Meadhra ASM

Warm greetings I am the principle practitioner at Klinic Sofia. For most of my life I have involved myself in voluntary and professional medical service.  Over this time I have acquired the knowledge and experience to offer trustworthy advice regarding the contemporary management of sickness and disease.  In addition I have also undertaken significant post graduate training in prescribing a wide range of natural medicines and traditional therapies.

I began my medical career in 1990 as an ambulance officer graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science in 2001. Whilst working as an intensive care paramedic I was awarded the Australia Medal (ASM) for national duty in an emergency service. After a decade of ambulance field work I pursued new employment as a clinical educator at Flinders University working as a lecturer in the faculty of health science. Following a journey to India I applied for medical school graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Surgery & Bachelor of Medicine in addition to receiving a scholastic medical award for ‘outstanding academic merit’

After completing  training as a hospital doctor I began family medicine practise at a Steiner clinic (The Melbourne Therapy Centre) and pursued further post graduate studies in Anthroposophic medicine. This study required peer mentorship and training at hospitals in India, Germany and Switzerland for final accreditation as an Anthroposophic physician.

After a decade of working as an Anthroposophic doctor in Melbourne I moved to coastal NSW and was employed as an integrative GP at the Bellingen Healing Centre.  In 2021 during the COVID pandemic I decided to retire as a doctor from mainstream medicine.

I now serve as a private health consultant at Klinic Sophia in addition to helping my partner Sophie manage her Steiner early childhood education programs.  In my time off when I am not building my castle, gardening or trying to write my book, I have three Kelpie/Collies in my face demanding beach time.
